A brief history of the artist and her love of horses and other animals

JENNIFER was born in Wales in 1975. It was clear from an early age that she had a natural flair for art and a love and connection with animals. Her first pony was a cheeky Welsh Section A pony named Tarf and together many happy memories were forged.

Art was the favoured subject at school and it came as no suprise that Jennifer would pursue a degree in that subject. A rare direct entry position was attained at Edinburgh College of Art where a classical approach to teaching drawing and painting suited her down to the ground. It was the classes in anatomy which really caught her imagination and so a fascination began in the mechanics of the equine body.

On graduating, Jennifer moved to London but this did not prevent her from finding equine friends. Working and teaching at a number of riding stables in the capital, she was able to work on her British Horse Society qualifications. It was around this time that Jennifer started to share an ex racehorse with a friend and discovered the benefits of Natural Horsemanship.

Having recently returned to her roots in North Wales, Jennifer has come full circle and combined her artistic talents with her love and understanding for the equine form. She can often be seen riding her barefoot Arab mare around the country lanes and hills and is inspired every day by the beautiful animals around her.
